Richard A. Phillips is a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent® Rated Partner with Morgan & Akins who represents employers, self-insureds, third party administrators, and insurance companies throughout the State of Georgia in workers’ compensation matters in a range of different industries, including manufacturing, poultry processing, construction, retail, and staffing agencies.
Richard also represents clients in the area of premise liability claims, high-value catastrophic injury claims, and subrogation claims, having successfully recovered funds in the State of Georgia in workers’ compensation subrogation matters. In addition, he has handled matters involving employer claim management, Medicare Set-Aside issues, prevention and safety, and air ambulance Georgia Fee-Schedule litigation.
Richard has unique experiences that have shaped the way he operates his practice, such as working with the Ethics Committee of the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation Annual Conference Steering Committee. He also serves as the general counsel for small businesses in the automotive industry.
Richard manages all of his cases in the most cost-effective and efficient manner possible, depending on the needs of the client, whether that means resolving cases through settlements, mediation or litigating claims at trials and hearings. He values constant client communication and strives to build strong relationships with the organizations he represents, always being available for consultation and conversation. Having worked in the software industry prior to attending law school, Richard understands the value that technology and open lines of communication bring to the table. Richard always puts clients and their interests first in every aspect of his practice.
