Monica Goudy joins Morgan & Akins as a Senior Attorney after several years at one of Atlanta’s largest firms. Monica works diligently representing employers, insurers, self-insurers and third-party administrators in all aspects of workers’ compensation claims throughout Georgia. She has extensive experience in complex, catastrophic, and fraudulent claims.

Monica does not define herself by specializing in a specific industry. Her clients include construction firms, hotels, waste management companies and agricultural employers. Monica is a skilled negotiator and a creative problem solver who makes a point of staying current on legal issues that impact a wide spectrum of her clients.

Prior to launching her career as a defense attorney, Monica specialized in environmental litigation and represented injured workers in Atlanta as a claimant’s attorney. The opportunity to practice law in other areas has provided a valuable perspective, especially in terms of creative strategy in developing litigation plans and resolving disputes. Additionally, while living in Italy and teaching high school and college-level literature in the Czech Republic she gained unique tools which she attributes to a “European Style” of conflict resolution.

During law school, Monica worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Steve C. Jones and a Georgia Superior Court Judge for the Western Judicial Circuit.
