For two decades, Andrew J. Hebar has been a trusted advocate for clients across Tennessee. As a Partner in the Knoxville office of Morgan, Akins & Jackson, he focuses his practice on workers’ compensation defense, general liability, subrogation, and employment law. Andrew has extensive experience representing clients in the transportation and trucking, manufacturing, school districts, construction, staffing, security, and retail industries.
Originally from Black Creek, Wisconsin, Andrew was born in Milwaukee and began his career in the railroad industry. After attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he became one of the first graduates of the National Academy of Railroad Sciences in Overland Park, Kansas, in 1997. He then spent several years working for Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway, holding roles as a switchman, foreman, brakeman, conductor, hostler, and locomotive engineer along routes between Memphis, TN, and Birmingham, AL.
Andrew later pursued higher education, earning his B.B.A. in Business Management from the University of Memphis in 2002, graduating summa cum laude and recognized as the top student in both the Business Management and Political Science programs. He then obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2005.
While in law school, Andrew worked in the subrogation department of a boutique commercial trucking insurer, where he advanced to the role of in-house subrogation counsel before transitioning into private practice. Since then, he has maintained an active litigation practice and frequently conducts seminars and training sessions for employers, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and administrative pools.
Outside of work, Andrew and his wife, Jennifer, can often be found at the ballpark, cheering on their three sons. A devoted sports fan, he rarely misses an opportunity to support his family on the field or root for his beloved Wisconsin Badgers.
