Kentucky, the Bluegrass State, is known for its bourbon, horses, coalfields, a certain fried chicken and obsession with college basketball. Its diverse offerings stretch from the mountains of Appalachia in the east, through the rolling horse farms of central Kentucky, to the cave systems and lakes of the western part of the state. In fact, Kentucky is a place so beautiful that Daniel Boone is rumored to have said, “Heaven must be a Kentucky kind of place.”
