Travis J. Ledgerwood is a seasoned civil litigator with an emphasis on workers’ compensation defense. During his career, Mr. Ledgerwood has tried countless cases in the state courts of Tennessee, and he has successfully obtained numerous defense verdicts for his clients. Mr. Ledgerwood has extensive experience representing employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in the defense of workers’ compensation claims through trial and administrative hearings with the Tennessee Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.
Mr. Ledgerwood has previously served as a workers’ compensation defense attorney at a law firm in Nashville, Tennessee, and as Assistant General Counsel for the State of Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development. During his time as Assistant General Counsel, Mr. Ledgerwood defended the State of Tennessee in complex workers’ compensation litigation involving the Second Injury Fund.
Mr. Ledgerwood received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign. He obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where he worked as a student attorney with the University of Tennessee College of Law Legal Clinic.
Mr. Ledgerwood was a speaker at the 2016 Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association Annual Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee, and a Panel Member at the 2018 Workers’ Compensation Lunch & Learn, presented by an insurance group in Memphis, TN.
Mr. Ledgerwood is admitted to practice in Tennessee State Courts and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. He is a member of the Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association, Tennessee Bar Association, and Nashville Bar Association. Mr. Ledgerwood is a three time member of the Tennessee Supreme Court Pro Bono Honor Roll for his volunteer work assisting unrepresented parties.
